that guy...

I was in New Orleans last week for a gathering of dream practitioner’s, a dream retreat and a public dream event, called the Dream Caravan, where I had the privilege of co-teaching a workshop called, "The Healing Power of Dreams" exploring how, during times of crisis, working with our dreams can offer, if not a cure, an inner healing.
I also had the opportunity to participate in a dreams and poetry class, taught by my own dream teacher, Rodger Kamenetz. Rodger encouraged us to step more deeply into a dream and write from that place...that ‘our dreams want to be a poem not a story.”
How easy it is to feel I am not a poet, that it takes a special knowing, a special sense that I lack...so as I’m apt to do...I jumped into the unknown...splat...and worked with this recent dream to feel the poem that might be there...
Dream - I’m sitting on a chair and a man keeps leaning into me, up close to my ear, speaking softly. I keep smiling, shaking my head and laughing at what he’s saying. It is a delicious, sexy, intimate feeling.
That Guy
they keep telling me...those who say they know...
(how do they know that?)
conjunctio...the sacred marriage...is in the act...
the 'theater of penis visits vagina'

how do i find which act...act one...act two...
...just before curtain call?
each morning...a disappointment...
a failed encounter
ah...finally...a dream...
the body parts make their appearance...
a cameo...standing ovation...bravo
exit stage left...to hope for the next casting call

what if i don't have to exit stage left?
what if i don't want to exit stage left?
ever leave the stage?
what if every act is the act...
so delicious and outrageous
i can only shake my head and laugh
as You whisper Your wide open secret
into the electric air between our cheeks...
"every time you tilt your head to me I enter you...
slipping easily into your ear...to your crinkling eyes...
to your open-legged smile...all the way down...
...the laugh in your throat
...the quivering depth of your belly
...just a head tilt away"
