a blessing...

Today my Natural Dreamwork Center was blessed…I was blessed…all those who come here to explore their dreams were blessed…the sacred encounter in each dream expressed in the sacred encounter of a blessing filling this space.
The gorgeous (inside and out) Brenda Fox, our hospice chaplain, teacher and friend stepped into this space with me today. As I met her at the door tears rose…my soul wet in its recognition and openness to this moment. Today was also a blessing of the feminine…by the feminine…a healing in a place that has been deeply wounded…a repair and return to trust of the feminine…

Brenda brought with her the outer to acknowledge the inner…stones for the four directions, a khata (ceremonial scarf) blessed by the Dalai Lama, rice of the mother, lavender, a banksia pod to hold fire, an abalone shell to hold sage for smudging.

And over the next hour were moments of speaking what wanted to be voiced…of potent silences…of moving around and through the room…of turning to the six directions…asking for their wisdom and presence…and slowly the unseen gathered to join us…blessing this work with our dreams…blessing and encouraging me in my capacity to be with others in this deep descent…

And how blessed am I that this is the fourth blessing in this space…one with me in my intimate silence with my Teachers, one by Joe who honored this space where relationships with ourselves, each other and the divine can be healed, and even a sweet long distance blessing by my teacher Rodger Kamenetz…and this one today…so vulnerably feminine in its presence and potency.

We closed the ceremony with a deep bow to each other…to this way we, as women, as humans, as those who work with people at end of life, can heal…all the way through.
